Lions Club of Crows Nest

The Lions Club of Crows Nest is the oldest service club in the area, being chartered in July 1974.

Club members meet on the first and third Thursday of each month, at the Sundowner Coffee Lounge at 6.30pm with the meeting being called to order at 7.00pm.

Lions Clubs are charitable and community service organisations raising money not only for their local region but also for state, national and international projects. At the Crows Nest Lions Club, funds are raised mainly by running monthly Lions Markets in the town park, from selling Lions Christmas cakes and mints, as well as from various other fundraising projects.

Monies raised are currently going towards finalising the Bullockys Rest area in town, the establishment of historic plaques in the town centre, sponsorship of Cancer Council accommodation units in Toowoomba, plus cash donations to various local organisations and Lions International projects such as the Lions Drug Awareness Foundation.

The Crows Nest Lions also run projects aimed at youth, including the Lions Medical Research Foundation Quest, Lions Youth of the Year, and fire poster and peace poster Competitions at the local school. The club also provides santa bags for younger children at Christmas in The Park.
