Toowoomba Regional Council operates 19 cemeteries: 16 are open for new interments.

Cemeteries record our community's and nation's history – they may be the only place where a person's life is formally documented and are invaluable for tracing ancestry and family trees. Most of the Toowoomba region's cemeteries were established in the late 1800s, the earliest being the heritage listed Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery operating since 1864

The cemetery is run by Trustees, not the Toowoomba Shire Council, but there are currently no trustees.

Who will look after the resting place of members of the Beutel, Gray, Harriss, Taylor and Zropf and other families?

Recently members of the Beutel family cleaned up and replaced the fence around the Beutel graves in the cemetery.
