Festival long events

•    See the scarecrows dotting the Shire. Entries close Wednesday 17th October. Thanks to HIGHFIELDS CENTRAL PLAZA. $200 prize money.
•    Colouring Competition for school children of the Shire…………..
•    Part of FAMILY WEEK activities
•    Tune in to FM Crow’s Nest on 88.0 for up to date Festival information.4634 7466
•    Get a copy of the Souvenir Edition of The Crow’s Nest Advertiser newspaper, out on Tuesday. 4698 1119
•    Crow’s Nest regional Art Gallery – 4698 1687
•    Carbethon Folk Museum, Crow’s Nest. Open 10am-3pm daily over the festival. 4698 1776
•    Highfields Pioneer Village. Open 10am-4pm over the festival. 4696 6309
•    Local Art Galleries and Antique Shops – including Village View Art Gallery, Rainbow Threads Café & Art Gallery
•    Stay a night or two at the many B&B’s, farm stays, motels, caravan park or hotels.
•    Call in to the Hampton Information Centre and get local brochures, including 4WD drives, bird trails, National Park trails.
•    Visit Lake Cressbrook, Cooby or Perseverance. 

Friday 19th October

•    Community Concert at the Lutheran Hall, Crow’s Nest. 7:30pm start. More artists invited to perform. Trevor Gillies. 4698 1270

Saturday 20th October

•    Highfields State School Fair. Carnival rides, dunking machine, animal farm, face painting, balloon animals, fashion parade, entertainment & drama by school students, stalls, multi-draw raffle, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD. 4698 7786,  0437 181 074

Sunday 21st October

•    Colours of San Cris, Cabarlah, celebrates all things Central American – food, music activities for kids. 4696 9955

Worm racetrack
Preparing the track for the celebrity worm race
•    26th Annual Crows Nest Day.   Including the Perseverance Cup for racing worms.

Sunday 28th October

•    Poets Breakfast. 7:30am – 9am at Highfields Pioneer Village. Thanks to Highfields & Crow’s Nest Branches of Heritage Building Society. Full breakfast and entertainment featuring JACK DRAKE and local poets. $15 admission includes admission to Pioneer Village (billy tea & damper, silver smithing, blacksmithing, steam engines) for the day, and a working Draught Horse display to follow. Bush poetry writing workshop at the Village from 10-11am, conducted by Jack Drake. A fund raiser for the Crow’s Nest and Highfields Scout Groups & the Pioneer Village.
