Crows Nest Shire in South East Queensland stretches 100 km
along the New England Highway north of Toowoomba.

It hugs the crest of the Great Dividing Range.

 By Road:
From Brisbane: Take the Warrego Highway (A2) to Toowoomba, then follow the signs north up the New England Highway (A3); or try the shortcut via Esk and Perseverance Dam.

From the north: From Kingaroy take the D'Aguilar Highway to Yarraman and then the New England Highway (A3) to Crows Nest.

From further north, take the Burnett Highway (A3) through Goomeri to Nanango, the D'Aguilar Highway to Yarraman, and then south on the New England Highway, or try the short cut via Maidenwell.

From the south: Take the New England Highway (A3) through Warwick to Toowoomba and north to Crows Nest.

Or from the Newell Highway (A5) to Goondiwindi, then the Gore Highway to Toowomba and the New England Highway (A3) north to Crows Nest.

From the west: Take the Warrego Highway (A2) from Charleville through Roma to Toowoomba, and then north on the New England Highway (A3) to Crows Nest, or try the short cut from Dalby through Goombungee.
