Lake Cooby Print
Lake Cooby offers activities for all members of the family. There's plenty of good fishing spots and boat access (electric motors only) or perhaps you're into more strenuous water sports such as sailing, canoeing or windsurfing. But. You don't have to be an angler or windsurfer to enjoy what Lake Cooby has to offer.

ImageLake Cooby is only a 35 kilometre drive from Toowoomba and easily accessible from the New England Highway. When travelling north from Toowoomba just look for the turn-off to your left at Highfields.

When travelling to Lake Cooby to get away from it all why not get away from your pets for a day too. As it is a flora and fauna reserve domestic animals are not allowed at Lake Cooby. Swimming is also prohibited at Lake Cooby.

If you want to know more about Lake Cooby please telephone Toowoomba City Council's Parks and Recreation Branch on 07 4688 6540 during office hours. WARNING - in dry times the public access is sometimes closed due to the presence of Blue-green algae.

There's a walking track for more energetic landlubbers and excellent shelters, and wood-fired barbecue facilities for those who just want to spend a few lazy hours on a family picnic. A children's playground also caters for younger members of the family and toilet blocks have disabled access. Camping facilities are not available at Lake Cooby.

Lake Cooby is a significant waterbird habitat, and has a rich population of bush birds, especially along the walking track.
